Kraft Heinz - Wattie's
EXCELLENCE AWARDEE:
CAAT fosters a diversity of thought and backgrounds to ensure employees can bring their whole, authentic selves to work, and none of the obstacles over the last few years have impacted that – in fact, the CAAT spirit and the company’s well-defined culture remained as strong as ever.
CAATsters continued to support each other while demonstrating core values of teamwork, integrity, and impact. From more frequent “Mini Town Halls” and update emails over the COVID-19 pandemic period, to informal meetings with CAAT’s CEO and supportive programs that provide for employees’ wellness, continued learning, and career progression plans, CAAT offers its employees the opportunity to contribute, learn, and grow in a supportive environment. And it’s this approach – though CAAT’s onsite amenities, which include a variety of space for quiet reflection, innovation, and collaboration; a games room; a gym; and a lounge, to name a few, don’t hurt either – that attract top talent. The company boasts a rapid recruitment strategy that empowers CAAT to find the best people, and then to ensure fit every prospective new hire meets with a senior C-suite leader to discuss the organization and its values. After assessing both fit-to-role and cultural fit, CAAT offers the top talent an opportunity to join the ranks of its top-tier company culture of which collaboration is a hallmark.
CAAT’s culture is also defined by Inclusion and Diversity, where the broadest range of experience, geography, ethnicity, and perspective are seen as integral to the organization’s success. Since its inception in 2019, the Inclusion and Diversity Committee has maintained its mission of fostering safety, education, awareness, and belonging for all CAAT employees. These values are bolstered by CAAT’s Rewards & Recognition program, which supports its “culture of celebration.” All successes are celebrated and employees recognize one another for a job well done.
CAATsters are committed to contributing to members’ financial security, and the internal culture reflects that commitment. CAAT strives to provide all Canadian workplaces with the opportunity to participate in a sustainable and valuable Modern Defined Benefit pension plan. Over the past year, CAAT grew rapidly in both membership and staff, expanding from 120 to 220 participating employers who joined the critically acclaimed, award-winning pension plan design. This expansion paves the way for continued diversification across Canada and contribution to all stakeholders’ shared success.
CAAT’s approach is indisputably working: the organization’s 2021 annual survey came back with an employee engagement score of 84%, up from 76% the year before and significantly higher than other comparable groups. CAAT is recognized as a Most Admired Corporate Culture 2021 by Waterstone Human Capital; as a BestCulture Leader 2021 by Kudos; a GTA Top Employer 2022; and was awarded Best Places to Work 2021 and 5-Star Rewards and Recognition 2022 by Canadian HR Reporter.
The accolades only drive CAAT to continue on its trajectory as they continue to grow as an organization, with the recognition reinforcing its values of teamwork, integrity, and impact – and most importantly, supporting the organization’s deep-rooted commitment to attract, retain, and inspire its people.

From our humble beginnings in 1871 with just 836 residents, Penrith City Council nestled along the Nepean River at the foot of the Blue Mountains now represents over 200,000 residents.
Penrith is transforming into a worldclass City that will soon have an international aerotropolis on its doorstep and as the closet city to that airport we will strengthen our position as the economic and employment hub of Western Sydney.
Our extensive program of city-shaping projects and revitalisation of our city centres is at a scale and scope that Penrith has never seen before making our city the ideal choice to live work and play. These projects and the community programs that Council delivers will enhance our lifestyle and increase access to employment hubs, transport and green spaces.
Our City’s greatest asset is its people, and the staff at Penrith City Council are testament to that. Covering a diverse range of professions and skills we have the people to design, build, manage, and maintain every aspect of public life for the community.
