TransAlta is also in the midst of a culture transformation underpinned by learning and development and the People & Talent team supports this transformation.
TransAlta intends for all employees who are actively engaged in the cultural transformation process as this engagement will create alignment and ownership, improve working relationships by engendering psychological safety and trust, and create opportunities for learning and sharing between leaders and employees across the organization. Key elements of this strategy include the annual Manager and Executive Development Programs.
The company also supports and promotes the implementation of core, technical, and specialized training and has a robust succession program.
Across the company’s business units, learning and development are promoted. From the External Affairs team launching Indigenous Cultural Competency training, to the Supply Chain team running an Innovation Speaker series, each corner of TransAlta has committed to a Learning oriented culture.
