As a recipient of 14 awards in the past 12 months, Centurion continues to uphold a commitment to employee job satisfaction and ensuring they find long-term stability within the organization. This is facilitated by support for employees in their personal development, career progression, and engagement, the success of which is evident in an increase in their employee happiness score from 4.3/5.0 in March to 4.5/5.0 in September.
In the past 12 months, Centurion’s HR strategy has been focused on the people of the organization both in terms of attracting top talent and retaining and maintaining existing talent. The company recognizes that vacancies can lead to issues such as employee burnout, under-performance, and loss of morale, which they combat by ensuring roles are filled to mitigate this stress and burnout.
Centurion has implemented this strategy by ensuring that the Talent Acquisition team is well trained and supported to fill the vacancies within the organization, and success is further facilitated by the Employment Engagement team who ensure that employees remain satisfied and motivated. Centurion has also implemented a Learning Academy Book Club with monthly meetings where members discuss the assigned chapter of the month, and monthly networking events where new hires and existing employees can connect with colleagues in other departments and build connections across the company.
It has also revamped benefit offerings and a healthcare spending account to ensure all facets of well-being – including physical, mental, and financial well-being – are addressed.
Through these initiatives, Centurion strives to prioritize employee well-being and mental health, offering comprehensive mental health benefits.
Alongside ensuring employees’ needs are met, the company’s HR team has played an integral role in ensuring the business meets its strategic business objectives, which include raising $490 million in capital, acquiring 48 new buildings, and increasing their assets under management by $1 billion to a total of $6.5 billion under management in the last 12 months.
Through a carefully designed HR strategy, Centurion has created an inclusive and employee-focused culture that prioritizes employees’ needs, happiness, and development, ultimately leaving employees feeling valued by their organization. The strength of this culture is further evident when examining their exceptionally low turnover rate of 1.1% on a monthly basis, as well as experiencing a decrease in employee absenteeism and an increase in employee engagement.
Centurion remains proud of the culture the organization has built and fostered, and the effort is attributed to a strong team who continue to exemplify the organization’s core values of respect, integrity, simplicity, and excellence in everything they do.
“This recognition reinforces the power of collaboration, inspiring our team to collectively raise the bar for employee experience and continue making a meaningful impact on our organization as well as the human resources industry as a whole,” said Laura Salvatore, Vice President of Human Capital.
