Charles Riegel is the People & Culture Manager at Regency Fireplace Products and is responsible for enhancing the overall employment experience of the company’s global workforce across Canada, US, and Australia.
Charles is a forward-thinking HR professional recognized for building impactful people programs and driving meaningful organizational change. He has led initiatives that enhanced compensation and benefits, improved leadership capability, and strengthened employee engagement. Charles is known for designing scalable frameworks that support performance, recognition, and development across diverse teams. His work in training, talent acquisition, and policy development reflects a strong balance of strategic insight and practical execution. With a passion for mentoring and continuous improvement, Charles consistently delivers solutions that align people strategy with business goals. Charles holds a bachelor of business administration (with distinction) from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University, concentrated in human resources & finance. He is also a designated professional and has achieved the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation in Canada, as well as the Society of Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation in the US.
The Lakes College Culinary Club (TLCCC) started with a team of 12 students and has now expanded to over 30 members, showcasing its continued success through participation in college events and even catering for local community organisations. This program not only imparts valuable culinary skills but also teaches the significance of community service, fosters practical abilities and cultivates a professional work ethic.
Spanning ages 11 to 18, the Culinary Club challenges students to create elaborate six-course degustation dinners and manage large-scale catering for college gatherings. Chloe, a Year 7 student, praises the program for imparting essential life skills in an enjoyable way among friends. Likewise, Emily values the connections she forms despite the program’s demanding pace.
Under the guidance of Chef Joel, TLCCC contributes to the college’s ethos and the students’ personal growth. The program’s commitment to local ingredients and culinary adventures is evident as it expands to include barista training and Responsible Service of Alcohol certification. The program seamlessly merges science, art and food technology, promoting discipline and shared responsibility. TLCCC embodies a commitment to service, community engagement and student leadership, cementing its unique character and contribution to The Lakes College.

A philanthropist, Chris founded the LIFT Foundation in 2013 and serves as its Executive Director. The non-profit supports families and children in high-risk situations and was recognized by Invest-In-Others as a Grant for Change recipient in 2022.
